Belt Loops

My little scout has advanced to a Bear.  He has been with Troop 630 since he was in Kindergarten.  He started out as a Tiger with about 20 other boys and now is a Bear with 10 boys.  He likes scouts and has a great pack and pack master.
During their pack meeting tonight, they performed a little skit (which they threw together at the last second). They then received their awards.  Tyson completed 4 belt loops.  I am so proud of him for his work.  Some of the kids that get multiple belt loops makes me wonder if they DO the requirements, or if the parents just sign them off.  I make Tyson do every requirement during the time scouts starts to the time it finishes. This way, he can know that he really worked for his awards and didn't get them just handed to him.
Receiving his awards
He is a happy kid among his peers.
After all the packs' skits and awards it was time for the "fun" of the evening.  One of the moms put together 4 stations of games for the scouts and their siblings to enjoy.  The first one was making sucker stick ghosts using a Kleenex.  Cute idea!
Next was the spider web maze.  Tyson was able to go through it pretty fast.
When it was Taryn's turn, she had watched all the other boys go and decided that going over and under the spider webs, was just too much work.  So...she went under all of them and was fast.  Ha ha ha.

Taryn was bound and determined to build her a mummy and one of the boys in Tyson's pack was willing to let her.  She had a ball making her mummy.
It was a well organized night.  I was impressed, even though it was 2 hours long, (just because there are so many boys) it was still good.
